At this time, we've discontinued all colors except for yellow. We do still have some green 1 3/4" and a few orange 2" latches, but we've discounted them in order to move out the inventory of colored latches. We've gone to a simple color scheme of yellow because: 1. It made packaging more simple 2. Yellow is a high-visibility color and is better for safety reasons 3. Yellow was the original latch color, so we really are just getting it back to basics.
We do offer customers the ability to choose their own color IF they order 10+ latches, but there is an extra per latch charge of $10 per latch. But for most of our customers, yellow seems to work just fine.
WHAT IF MY GATES HAVE WIRE MESH?
Our latches work on single and double tube gates. For double gates, they fit on two horizontal pipes, and the bottom latch goes over the top of the pipe, and the top latch goes underneath. So, if your latches have two open horizontal bars with no mesh between them, these latches will work, as long as the top latch is on the top pipe.
If you have tube gate latches with all mesh, we've had a number of customers say they simply cut a square hole in the mesh so the latch can fit through. We can't really recommend this as a best practice, but we also recognize that no two gate configurations are the same, and farmers know how to "make things work" when they need them to.
CAN YOU SHIP TO CANADA?
Yes! We've shipped a number of orders to Canada. Just check out and pay the same way all of our USA customers would, it's as easy as that. Shipping is more expensive, and takes a bit longer, but I promise, it will be worth your wait.
HOW MUCH SPACE DO I NEED BETWEEN MY GATES?
Overlapping Gates - Overlapping tube gates really need to have at LEAST 3 inches of space, but we find that for best results, clients try and have 6-8" inches between gates. Also, the longer the gates are, the more overlap you will want to have. Heavy gates tend to need more to "bite onto."
Side by Side Gates - Side by side tube gates need only to pass each other. A 1-2 inch gap works really well, but as long as the two gates pass each other, they will work perfectly fine.
Single Gates - Our single gate latch is a great option for single gates that really need a heavy duty latch for the gate to rest on. Since single gates tend to be larger to accommodate a larger opening (as opposed to two smaller gates) we understand that by latching your single gate to a post stud that is fixed on the horizontal side of the post, you are saving years and years off the life of your gate hinges.
WHAT SIZES CAN GATEHANDS FIT ON?
Our double and single tube gate latches fit on 1 5/8", 1 3/4" and 2" gates.
